#Redirects
A redirect sends visitors and search engines from one URL to another. Permanent 301 and 308 redirects pass signals to the new address, while temporary ones tell search engines to keep the old one. Redirects are essential during redesigns, migrations and URL clean-ups. Chains, loops and redirects to irrelevant pages waste crawl effort and confuse users. Articles under this tag explain which redirect to use and how to keep them tidy.
